Swimmer of the Meet was awarded to Carlos Berbia.  Carlos made finals in 10 out of 12 events and came home with 9 medals and big PBs.  He also received a medal in the Medley Relay tonight bringing home his team against really strong 13U boys. Well done Carlos!!! :)

Carlos has shown maturity beyound his years. To achieve personal best times in every race on only his second trip away shows great focus towards his swimming for a young man. Carlos was seen after every race working on his recovery, eating the right food, keeping up his fluids and making sure he got enough rest between heats and finals. Carlos received swimmer of the meet for swimming amazing times but his amazing times came from the way he conducted himself out of the water. Congratulations on a great meet Carlos!!!

There were some good results to come out of the 400's as well. Sam and Beth won age group medals, and they, with Tess, qualified for the open final tonight.

Finals update Day 2

We had an exciting night at the pool, with the official opening of the Championships, which included a 'March On' .... a big thankyou to Beth, Cam, Rachel & Connor for representing our club so well.
Some of the highlights from tonight included, loads of PB's, Lucy swimming a fabulous 200 Free, which saw her take the Bronze medal & also, a much prized, national time! Beth claimed the silver medal in the Womens 800 Free and also scored herself another National time. Tess came third in the same event, bringing home a bronze medal. Beth was too busy racing her 200 Breast, so Tash very kindly, stepped onto the dias to collect the silver medal for her. A huge effort from Max Thorn, who swam the 1500, then backed it up with the 200 Free...awesome effort!!
Todays Sportsmanship Award went to Beth for her fabulous swims tonight and also for the way she handles herself, both in and out of the pool...she is a fabulous role model for our younger swimmers... Thank you Beth xoxo
We have a massive day tomorrow...heats don't finish till 1.30pm and warm up for finals starts at 3.30pm.... so please, don't stress if you don't hear from us....we will be concentrating on staying as rested, hydrated & prepared as possible :)

Hi it's Tom here,

Today its only open event's so most of the guys are just watching the events after we had a little flush out swim. Pat says.... Justin is smashing his room in FIFA on the X-box (which is his pride and joy). It is pretty hot over here today so we are drinking as much as we can. at the moment we are watching the girls open 800 metres. we are all having fun.
Hi it's Bec, Saskia & Amelia here...  we are sharing a house with Coach Amy and we are watching the swimmers race the 800 free. We have been watching movies, drinking lots of water and listening to lots of music. Last night Minna ate the biggest bowl of plain pasta, she didnt even finish it!! bye from the pool!
